Hello again everyone!
I’ll not be speaking to you about software, or games, or websites today- I won’t even be penning a review.
On September 27th, bloggers from everywhere will unite, in posting a blog about an abuse near and dear to their hearts. For some it will be about animal rights; for others – human cruelty, or drug abuse, but no matter what each blogger has chosen to focus upon; you can be sure that it’s a worthy choice.
Why? Because abuse of any kind is wrong and the abuse of just about anything can be tempting to certain individuals (even corporations for that matter,) who just can’t resist the lure of power, while abusing X,Y, or Z.
There are so many different kinds of abuses that occur in the world and yet, there are so many that are blind to most of them. Or perhaps the public simply closes their eyes when they see something horrible and they give into the “I Don’t Want To Get Involved” Syndrome.
This challenge is issued by the people at Blog Cataglog to all bloggers far and wide. It’s one of the most amazing initiatives that I’ve ever come across on a global scale. So far, thousands of bloggers (including myself,) have accepted the challenge to blog on the 27th September, 2007 about one kind of abuse or another.
Are you up for the challenge?
You don’t have to write a tome, just a few short paragraphs to raise awareness for the kind of abuse that touches you most deeply. Don’t tell yourself that it’s all too much research or work – simply write what you know and look up what you don’t know for your blog entry.
Look into your heart; form opinions and write about it. You could include links to other abuse pages, blogs or news articles. Who knows? A little research may even raise your own awareness – and that can only be a good thing.
