Hello everyone!
I’m hoping to make my life simpler now that I’ve moved from Blogger to WordPress. So, today’s post isn’t a review, but more of an introduction and a “Hey There!” to my fellow WordPressers.
In college, I was an English major and still have an ongoing love affair for words. I not only write software and web site reviews for a living, but I also write poetry, which I’m hoping to utilize in a second blog, some day when I have the time.
I used to write the odd review on download sites, until friends urged me to create my own web site. They believed in me; my writing ability; my knowledge of software and web site design – and further; that I could make money doing it.
I’ve now proved their faith in me and have managed to do quite well in the software review field. But why should you read my reviews, when there are so many software reviewers available today.
Good question!
Reviews found on download sites (minus Editor’s Picks,) are normally just the short blurb taken directly from the publisher’s web site. Many other reviews are plagiarized from all over the internet, with a word or two changed around.
Mine are original. I spend a great deal of time testing each piece of software – usually around 3 hours and then write up an in-depth review of each one, including the positives and negatives. Even though I’m paid for most of my reviews, it does not negate the fact that I do remain honest with each of them.
If the software is faulty in some way, I will mention it and some of my clients have experienced this in the past, without complaint. One client described me as having the ability to write “reviews with a bite!” and I’ve kept that phrase on my web site ever since. Hey I liked it!
If you love software and would like to know more about it before purchasing; or if you prefer to avoid web sites with bad software design, or even pick up a few software tips then my reviews are for you!
